It’s hard to believe that thefrontieratgrace.com has now been in operation for over 17 months. Our handy-dandy dashboard tells us that we’ve published over 330 posts and that over 550 comments have appeared since our foray into the blogosphere with the humble reflection we called “Praying for Mark May.” Thanks to you, we have over 100 email subscribers, 122 Facebook “likes,” and 43 Twitter followers. But numbers don’t tell the whole story.

As you are probably aware, thefrontieratgrace.com is the blog of the Frontier men’s ministry at Grace Polaris Church. As such, this blog attempts to support the mission of Grace Polaris, which is to honor God by multiplying devoted followers of Jesus through worship, community, training, and witness. We want to know if we’re on the right track.

Here is our challenge and plea: if you feel that you have benefitted from your interaction with thefrontieratgrace.com, please give us some feedback. We’d request that you respond to at least one of the following questions, though extra gratitude goes to those who answer all of them. Please either leave a comment on this post, or email us at frontier@gracepolaris.org.

(Worship—“Upward” focus) How has thefrontieratgrace.com helped you to become more passionate for God?

(Community—“Inward” focus) How has thefrontieratgrace.com enabled you and encouraged you to participate in Jesus’ family?

(Training—“Forward” focus) How has thefrontieratgrace.com moved you toward greater Christlikeness and prepared you for service?

(Witness—“Outward” focus) How has thefrontieratgrace.com helped you present Jesus to the world?

Are you multiplying and becoming a more devoted follower of Jesus through the ministry of the blog? If so, what aspects of the ministry have been most helpful? Are there ways in which we could be more effective in accomplishing our mission?

Thanks in advance for your participation. Blessings to you!

I just was called a “Gimper” for Christ. Not knowing the term, I “Googled” the term. I feel this blog challenges me to think more deeply about Christ and my role as a “Gimper”… What is a Gimper you ask? Here’s what I found…MY FAVOURITE WORD…GIMPERS:

Many years ago i read an article regarding an unusual sounding word which does not appear in any of our dictionaries anymore. It is “gimpers.” I have often used it when speaking to children and youth groups, and i have always been able to get the attention of my listeners.

The word “gimper” will not be found in any of the english dictionaries of today. Maybe, just maybe, one rare specimen of a collection of words and their meanings may present the word “gimper”, and its unique meaning.

The late DR DeHann, who was both a medical doctor, preacher, and teacher of the word of God, used the word “gimper”. No doubt he had in his possession a book which defined the word “gimper”.

Gimper – a rare word indeed. The species is even more rare.

Like the elusive tasmanian tiger, they have escaped humanity’s encounter. The one thing about “gimpers” is that they never ever run in packs. They are loners and that is one of the reasons why they are hard to find. Gimpers are seldom seen whether it be in our outbacks or in our cities, yet it is possible to see one and not know.

Dr. DeHann in one of his bible classes on the radio, many years ago, defined the word “gimper” as one who aspires to excel, to be different – one committed to the core – thoroughly and unequivocally.

The “gimpers” roots of dedication result in the rich fruit of determination, excellence, and achievement. Setting their sights high, “gimpers”, drive towards the goal, absorbed in the passion of quality – accomplished at almost any cost.

“Gimpers” form the backbone of whatever they are a part of.

    May god bless you all,
    Pastor Ian.

I am now excited becoming a better “Gimper” for Christ

    Beau,

Wow, 17 months already!! I look forward to reading this blog daily. It has challenged and enabled me to grow in my faith, my knowledge, and in my pursuit of holiness. As a result, my passion and love for the Lord is greater than it has ever been. I have had the opportunity to join with other brothers in the Lord through participation in the Frontier Men’s Bible Study. This blog has equipped me to confidently dialogue and discuss spiritual matters with other believers and non-believers alike.

In addition to the blog, it now may be time to consider developing an online forum .This would be a site where followers can interact “live” in discussing the blog and other issues. In addition, they can comment on prevoius discussions that have taken place.

Thanks for all your hard work!!

    Brian
